Extreme Control Adventures is a top water sports and adventure school in El Cuyo, founded by Marcos and originally established in Tulum in 2004. With a focus on high-quality instruction and unforgettable experiences, they offer a range of activities, including kiteboarding, hydrofoiling, surf lessons, paddleboard and equipment rental.
The team, led by Marcos and expert instructors Pablo and Nick, is passionate about water sports and dedicated to creating safe, memorable experiences. Lessons are available for all skill levels, with private and group options, as well as equipment rentals for independent adventurers.
Operating out of Casa Mia in El Cuyo, just a short walk from the beach, they provide a prime location for water activities. As an IKO-certified school, they use short lines, radio helmets, and the latest techniques to ensure safety and progress.
With experience dating back to 2004 and a presence in El Cuyo since 2015, they understand that mastering kite control typically takes 6 to 9 hours, depending on skill and wind conditions. Lessons are available in Spanish, Italian, and English.

Kiteboarding Classes (Packages)
Book a kiteboarding lesson package, you will typically do classes for two–three hours per day. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, you'll get a better rate with the lessons package, and the skills to become an independent kiter. Beginners learn wind conditions, gear setup, water entry/exit, safety procedures, and riding techniques. If you already have experience, this package helps you progress and earn an IKO certification card.

Intro Kiteboarding Course - 2 hours
Want to try kiteboarding without committing to a full lesson package? The introductory class is a great way to get started. Book your session, meet at the beach for a two-hour lesson, and if you enjoy it, you can continue with more hours.
General Info: The class is two hours and covers the basics of assembling the gear and making your first attempt at flying an inflatable kite. Lessons take place on the beach with an IKO-certified instructor. Book a private class, or a private group class (up to three people).

Kiteboarding Specialities Class - 1 hour
The specialties class is for kiteboarders looking to progress quickly and develop advanced skills like 360s, transitions, jumps, turns, kite loops, and refined kite control for riding waves and using a surfboard.
General Info: This class lasts for one hour, where you'll use Radio Helmets to receive live tips and corrections from your IKO Instructor while riding the waves. You'll focus on one or two tricks to help you enhance your kiting skills.

Kiteboarding Classes Per Hour
Book kiteboarding lessons by the hour. Whether you're just starting or looking to improve, you'll build the skills needed to ride independently. Kiteboarding Refresh Class - 2 hours
The refresh class is for kiteboarders with prior experience who want to regain confidence on the water or sharpen their skills after time away from the sport.
General Info: The class is two hours with an IKO-certified instructor who will work straight on what you need to get back in the water as fast as possible. They will work to make sure you're feeling confident. After this class, you will be ready to rent the gear and enjoy many hours of riding.

Paddleboard Rental
Rent a paddleboard from Extreme Control Adventures and explore the beautiful waters of El Cuyo at your own pace. The best time to go is in the morning when the conditions are calm, or anytime there’s no wind, creating a smooth, glassy surface. Summer is ideal, with mostly flat waters that make for an easy and enjoyable ride. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, paddleboarding is a great way to take in the surroundings while getting a workout.
General Info: Includes paddle board, and paddle. The price is for an hour, per paddle board.
